代偿性月经是指与月经周期相似的周期性非子宫出血。其原因可能与激素水平的变化，使黏膜血管扩张、脆性增加，易破裂出血而造成，最多见为“鼻衄”，俗称“倒经”，代偿性月经发生在鼻黏膜最多，约占1/3。其次可发生在眼睑、外耳道、皮肤、胃肠道、乳腺和膀胱等处。严重者可出现只有代偿性月经而没有正常的月经流血，或者代偿性月经出血量多，子宫出血量少。
